One of the challenges that consumers of advice in financial services have is differentiating between those who are qualified and objective, and those who are not. The financial services industry comprises a wide range of service providers including, financial planners, fee based investment advisers, stock brokers, annuity sales people, commission oriented registered representatives, Life Insurance agents, etc. To the uninformed they may all seem the same, and in many cases they may also look the same. The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards was established in 1985 to set standards for advisors in financial planning and create the CFP designation. The founders of our firm were awarded their CFP designations in 1987 and those standards inform all areas of our business.
