Diversification as an approach to investment management is not a new or proprietary concept. In fact the idea of diversification, commonly referred to as "don't put all your eggs in one basket", has references that go back as far as 935 B.C. The Bible's book of Ecclesiastes mentions, "But divides your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lay ahead". Diversification as a strategy is not unique, but our multi-level approach to investment diversification is not common among many investors and is practiced primarily in large institutions.
